MAJOR CHANGES TO THE ORGANISATION – THIS INVOLVES THURSO BRANCH
Following Special Conference in September 2024, the Strategic Transformation Committee have been moving forward with the work required to create a plan for the organisation detailing the reviews and changes required to guarantee the future of RBLS.
The Change Management Plan which has been created, is a culmination of discussions at Conferences in 2024, and feedback from the membership which has been approved by the NBT. A copy is attached and has also been uploaded to the website here. The associated programme can also be found on this website here, this confirms when a task is scheduled, who is leading it, who is supporting it, the priority of the task and percentage complete.
The documents details all aspects of the work ahead of us an organisation, a full breakdown of all tasks, who is accountable, how the work will be achieved and the outputs to be measured.
For the work to progress and positive changes to be implemented EVERYONE in the organisation will need to be engaged in the detail of this document and the communications and updates which will continue through the year.
This information should be shared with your members, discussed regularly at all meetings and the programme should be on every meeting agenda at Branch and Area level to ensure awareness and engagement across the organisation.
Regular updates and ongoing communication will be provided through the following mediums:
- The Head Office Month End Report will have an STC update every time it is circulated.
- The Membership Bulletin will be used to communicate directly with all members who have provided an email address.
- Our Branch Training Webinar, 30th Jan 2025 – will be used to provide a full update on how the work is progressing (include the link we already shared for this in the November month end report).
- Look out for a full feature in the April Legion Scotland Today Magazine.
- Our Branch Training Webinar in April will pick up on how the work is progressing.
- The Annual Conference programme will focus on the CMP and ongoing work.
- Interim communications and updates will also be considered where required.
- Appropriate updates will be shared on social media.
Each Area has a representative on the Strategic Committee, and they will be able to provide in-person updates on the work at Area Council/Area Exec meetings, Area AGM’s and for any Branches who wish to invite them to attend meetings.
As part of the programme of work we will be beginning with the required reviews and audits of our structure starting with Head Office later this month and moving on to Areas in February/March. All Area Executive members in post following the upcoming Area AGMs will be contacted very soon so the required meetings can be set up with everyone.
There are some quick wins we have already achieved, but this will be a long-term project involving everyone. The Change Management Programme is also a working document and will be updated as and when required (and approved by the NBT).
